Project: Living Track
Client: Oxfam Novib
Year: 2016-continue
Project Detail:
The project aims to explore migration by charting the environmental, economic, political, and socio-religious variables that motivate the movement of peoples in Bangladesh and across international borders. In 2016, the United Nations has reported that a record 65 million people are displaced worldwide due to global conflicts. In a globalized world, the pull factor for migration has been the violation of security. In 2015, the United Nations International Migration Report stated that 244 million of the world’s population migrated to a country outside of their birth and citizenship in search of economic and social opportunities. Meanwhile, in 2016, the UNHCR reported a record number of 65 million people are displaced worldwide due to war, prosecution, structural divisions in society, and human rights violations.
